Do you have what it takes to compete for over $11,000 worth of prizes? In October of 2002, the Association of Business, Engineering, and Science Entrepreneurs (ABESE) founded the first ever Louisiana Tech Top Dawg Business Plan Competition. The competition was designed to give students an opportunity to start their own business ventures and gain real-world experience as an entrepreneur. To this day, past entrants of the competition continue to formulate their businesses. The business plan competition consists of students forming multi-disciplinary teams and writing a business plan of their own business venture. The student teams present their plans to a panel of business professionals to be judged. The winners of the competition receive financial support to continue building their businesses. The competition offers an opportunity to direct the imagination and creativity of young adults toward ideas and inventions that will improve quality of life, while teaching them sound business practices and how to bring those ideas to life in the real world. In addition, business leaders are exposed to the enthusiasm and insights of the students. The competition is hands-on education at its best, giving the participants a chance to see what it is like to function in the business world. For more detailed information, please read the FAQ.
